Just back from a challenging (for us!) weekend bicycle trip across Ashtabula County from Orwell, Ohio to Ashtabula, Ohio and back, a total of 50 miles. We rode to Ashtabula and spent the night in Conneaut with my parents to help celebrate my mom's birthday on Saturday and then headed back for home on Sunday. This was a great 'trail run' in preparation for our trip we are planning for next June - a ~320 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. along the Great Allegheny Passage and C & O Canal Trail. We learned a lot from traveling by bike 25 a day. For one thing, we need to make sure we really get ourselves in shape next spring - a great goal!

Oooh, that sound like fun! If you could only get your bikes to Philly before we move I'd take you on a ride to Valley Forge. Also 50 miles round trip. I've done it once. Never would have guessed it was through a major metropolitan area. Training will be key to your comfort. And well padded shorts.
Sounds like fun, Vanessa!
